Walter Ghant, LMHCA
Walter “Walt” Ghant is a licensed mental health counselor associate, native Oregonian and a proud veteran of the US Air Force. Walt continues pursuing a passion for public service through ongoing work with homeless veterans and as an advocate for underrepresented youth and BIPOC communities. Walt has travelled extensively and enjoys learning about new cultures and meeting new people. His prior professional experience includes faith-based nonprofit leadership, community mental health, and higher education.
Over the past two decades, Walt has continued to remain active as an advocate for mental health services and related issues of housing/food insecurity and addiction. Walt also is engaged with mentoring youth in Oregon’s foster care system. Walt believes strongly in the value of education and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Warner Pacific College, a Master of Divinity from Howard University, and master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health, from George Fox University, respectively. After an extended time on the East Coast, Walt is happy to be back in the beautiful Pacific Northwest (PNW).
Walt is also excited about returning to the field of mental health and looks forward to assisting clients in their quest for emotional health and overall wellness. In his spare time, Walt enjoys relaxing outings around the PNW with his family and friends, which includes a loving wife, adult children, and a pack (three) of wonderfully spoiled pooches. As an advocate for human dignity, Walt encourages persons to laugh, learn, and to make a positive difference in the world through public service.
